## Brickwork Quantity Calculation

To find out the Brickwork Quantity Calculation above the plinth level we need to first find out the length, width, and height of the wall in the given drawing. For this, we have to see the drawing. For the length and width of the wall, we need to see the top view of the drawing

In this top view, we can see the room of dimensions 4m x3.5m inner to inner.

So to find out the total length of the wall we need to add all the length of walls from column to column,

= 4+3.5+4+3.5

=15m

The total length of the wall = 15m

Width of the wall =230mm or say 0.23m

### The find out the height of the wall we have to see the front elevation of the wall in the drawing.

Here in this front view, the height of the wall is 3m.

Here the sill height of the window is 0.7m

(Sill height is basically the distance between the plinth level and the window bottom)

First, we find the area of the wall so that we can deduct the door and window area easily.

Length= 15m

Height=3m

**Area = 45m ^{2}**

Now we have to deduct the door and window space for that we have to see joinery details

Now in this joinery detail, there is one door and two windows

1. **Door**

Length = 0.8m

Height = 2m

Area = 0.8 x 2

= 1.6m^{2}

2. **Window **

Length = 1.5m

Height = 1.2m

Area = 1.5 x 1.2

= 1.8m^{2 }x 2

= 3.6m^{2}

**Total deduction = 1.6 + 3.6**

**= 5.2m ^{2}**

**Total area after deductions = 45-5.2**

**= 39.8m ^{2}**

To find out the Brickwork Quantity Calculation we have to multiply the width of the wall to the area

i.e, = 39.8 x0.23

= **9.154m ^{3}**is the required volume of brickwork

As discussed earlier (as per BIS) that 1m^{3 }brickwork = 500 numbers of brick

Therefore, 9.154 x 500 = 4577 numbers of bricks are used.

**Total numbers of bricks are 4577**
